Burned out and destroyed two extension cords

The motor has some issue that appears common given other reviewers have had the same issue. Motor has suddenly overwhelmed the electrical and overheats, causing two different power cords rated above 14 amps to melt. I can’t find the receipt, so Canadian Tire won’t replace - keep your receipt if you do decide to buy this.

The box shows a bag, the manual shows a bag. I bought one, no bag. Not a big deal went to store to exchange. Opened in store, no bag. Employees said they opened them all in the back, and all came with no bag. Kind of hard to suck up leaves with no bag. Don’t bother buying.

Known Issue that Yardworks Does Not Honour

I bought this blower/vacuum three years ago. The bag ripped the second time I used it. A basic design flaw where the bag wears where it connects to the unit. I’ve used duct tape to rig up a poor solution as there is not a replacement bag available. And now, it seems I’ve encountered a second “known problem” as the connection to the unit fried the extension cord and now the unit won’t start. Even the phone rep I spoke with acknowledged he hears this issue regularly. So - we spent $150 on a product that has known deficiencies, will cost more to service than it is worth to buy a new one (according to the Yardworks rep), and we fried an extension cord as well. It always surprises me when a manufacturer doesn’t correct or extend warranty considerations to correct known issues. In the automotive sector, these are what instigates class action lawsuits. Buyer Beware!
