Is there a difference between masking tape and painter's tape?

Masking tape is typically extra sticky for a firm hold, while painter's tape is designed to be easy to remove after painting without leaving residue or causing damage.

What is painter's tape used for?

Painter's tape is used to create clean borders when painting and can also be used to protect surfaces from drips and splatter, or to tape down drop sheets. Taping edges will make sure that paint lines are sharp and flawless.

Will painter's tape damage surfaces?

Painter's tape is designed to not stick too firmly, so it won't pull away paint or leave residue. Some tape is designed for delicate surfaces like finished wood.

How do I remove painter's tape safely?

To safely remove painter's tape, just gently and firmly pull it off. It should come off easily without holding or damaging anything.
