Yes, you can mix bromine and pool shock in your pool. When you shock your pool with chlorine and then add bromine, the residual bromine will convert the chlorine into bromine.

How much bromine to put in my pool (by the gallon)?

The ideal level of bromine that should be in your pool is between 2-4 ppm. By using tablets and other spa chemicals, cleaners, or water test kits, you can easily manage and achieve this level.
