How heavy are tool chests/cabinets?

Tool chests can generally weigh as little as 23-lbs to as heavy as 166-lbs for each individual unit. Tool cabinets are usually heavier ranging from as low as 55-lbs to upwards of 255-lbs for each cabinet unit. The weights for a cabinet unit and chest unit are to be compounded if they have been assembled to form a larger storage unit.

Do tool cabinets require assembly?

Tool cabinets come preassembled by the manufacturer. Parts that can require assembly are caster wheels that need to be attached to the base of your tool cabinet for portability. Some tool cabinets can be coordinated to fit under tool chest units from the same brand to make a larger cabinet. Please refer to the product instruction manual(s) included with your purchase for more details.

Are tool chests/cabinets easy to relocate once assembled?

Yes, you can easily relocate fully assembled tool chests and tool cabinets with the help of the attached casters. Simply push or pull the cabinet to maneuver it to the location you’d like. If moving from one house or workplace to another, you can use a ramp with your moving truck to load your tool chest and cabinet unit with ease.
