For wet saws, start by preparing the saw on a flat and stable surface. Then, mark the cut you wish to make on the tile. From there, place the widest part of the tile (if there is one) between the fence and the blade. Place the blade guard over the blade, and let the saw hit full rotation speed and ensure that water is spraying onto the blade before making the cut. The same steps apply to dry saws but be advised it may be better to use wet saws on thicker tiles, as the water is meant for cooling the blade during intense friction.
Can I use a tile saw to cut things other than tile?
Technically, a tile saw can be used for things besides tile. However, it is not advised, as there can be an increased risk of injury. Use the tool that is designed for the job at-hand.
