How are diesel oil, additives, and fluid different from non-diesel?

Can you use regular motor oil and fluids with diesel engines?

Regular motor oil and fluids can be used with diesel engines only if the oil meets the minimum requirements specified by the diesel engine’s manufacturer. Some diesel engines are not designed to use standard motor oil and fluids and can lead to increased wear and tear, so it’s best to use oil made for diesel engines like synthetic diesel engine oil or diesel conventional oil.

How much does a diesel oil change cost? Can I do it at home?
The cost of getting a diesel oil change will vary based on your vehicle’s make and model. You can schedule an appointment at your local Canadian Tire Auto Service Centre and have one of our professionals perform the oil change for you. The minimum payment is the sum of (a) the greater of: (i) interest and fees shown on your statement + $10; or (ii) 5% of the New Balance, excluding amounts on special payment plans, (b) any balance over your credit limit, (c) any amounts past due not included in (b) above, and (d) the amount of any equal payments plan instalments then due.
