What are the different types of clothing irons?

Basic Iron- This type of clothes iron has no additional features. It has a metal sole plate and a dial to control the temperature.

Steam Irons- These irons have a small water tank that allow the appliance to produce steam. They remove stubborn wrinkles and give a smoother finish to almost any fabric.

Deluxe Clothes Irons- These irons include many features such as automatic shut-off, retractable cord, non-stick sole plate, temperature & steam control and more.

How do you choose a good clothing iron?

One should consider these points while purchasing laundry irons.

·      Type- Based on your preference, you should decide whether you want a dry (basic) iron or steam iron.

·      Comfort- A garment iron should not feel heavy and should be easy to maneuver while pressing the garment.

·      Features- Choose an iron based on the features you will require on a regular basis. For example, steam features are useful when pressing cotton and linen or if you want to not tamper with the dial, you may want to consider an iron with auto shut-off feature.  

·      Non-stick- Even though a laundry iron with a non-stick sole plate may cost a little more, but it is worth it. These tend to glide over your garment and not harm them in any way.

·      Budget- Always consider buying a budget-friendly appliance.
