What kind of oil do you use for a chainsaw?
Many chainsaws use a specially formulated bar and chain oil. This oil reduces friction and heat buildup that can cause premature wear and tear on your saw. Use heavier oil in summer and switch to lightweight oil in the winter.

Can you use regular motor oil in a chainsaw?
Using regular motor oil in a chainsaw is an option but not necessarily the best choice. Regular motor oil is not specifically designed for use in chainsaws and may not provide the same level of protection as chainsaw oil.

How do you apply oil to a chainsaw?
Turn off and unplug your chainsaw before applying oil. After cleaning and scraping off the dirt, fill the oil reservoir with the oil. Next, turn on your chainsaw allowing it to run for a few seconds which spreads the oil throughout the components.

How often should you oil a chainsaw?
It depends on how often you use it, but we recommend applying the oil before every use to keep your chainsaw in top condition.
