Ironing boards and covers come in various sizes and lengths. A cover should fit snuggly around your board. If your ironing board cover is too big, it can shift and bunch, making ironing difficult.

Are tabletop or freestanding ironing boards safer?

While both options have safety advantages, choosing one over the other is a matter of personal preference. Tabletop ironing boards are ideal for smaller spaces such as condos or townhouses when placed on a table, desk, counter, or floor. Plus, they’re portable and easy to move around, doubling as a compact ironing board. Freestanding irons are a lot larger in size but are more stable and often have height-adjustment features.
