What types of patching products are available?
Spackling is the most used patching product for a variety of surfaces, including wood, drywall, and plaster. Wall repair patches are made of strong materials like fiberglass and metal and are often used to create a stable base for drywall compound when repairing large holes or dents. Fillers can be used to smooth out dents in walls and to fill small holes.
What can I use to patch holes in walls?
Small holes can be patched with spackling, while larger holes need to be cleaned up, covered with drywall tape or patching, and then completed with drywall compound. You will want to have a putty knife to apply compound.
How big of a hole can you patch in drywall?
We carry patches up to 8x8-in, which can cover holes up to 7 inches in diameter. When using patches, you'll need to make sure they cover the hole and can stick to around an inch of undamaged wall. For very large holes, you may need to replace drywall.
