Why does the outside get hot??

The title of this product is "...insulated double wall..." which is the same construction as our favourite travel mugs/insulated steel water bottles which remain cold to the touch even when filled with freshly boiled water... so why does this french press get hot and require a heat resistant sleeve?! I'm not sure where the design flaw is in this product, but the 'insulation' should keep the heat INSIDE the carafe. I'm confused as to why more of these reviewers that have actually used the product aren't confused about this! Also confused as to why people review things before they've used them, but I guess that's what the internet is for, spreading opinions on literally everything whether or not you have anything relevant to say or knowledge on the subject whatsoever. And if you buy a product that holds 20oz of liquid, then rate it poorly because you 'wish it was bigger' .... that's not a product problem, that's a you not buying the right tool for the job you wanted to do problem.

No, I do not recommend this product.
