Hello Meee, Salton temperature control kettle model JK2112 has three control buttons: KEEP WARM, TEMPERATURE, and POWER. Press the power button once to turn the kettle on. For a complete understanding of how this digital kettle works, be sure to read the instruction booklet. Additionally, if there are mineral deposits inside the kettle, make sure to descale it periodically. Neglecting to descale can lead to longer boil times than usual. CustomerCare

Have to Replace

After using this kettle for 6 months, I've decided to replace it. It's infuriating to use without an indicator that the kettle has been turned on. I usually watch the kettle to see if the displayed temperature is increasing to determine if in fact it's actually turned on.

Great for green tea! It is easily adjustable to 80° C and it does retain the memory of the previous setting. Does throw heat like a kettle on the stove. Perfect for the hot summer.

Not impressed

It boils the water just fine, but everything else is just infuriating. 1) There is no visual indicator that the kettle is actually ON. The display turns on when you push the power button on put the kettle on the base, but this isn't turning it on - but there is no extra light or other indicator that it is heating your water. 2) It beeps when you put it on the base, when you turn it off, when you turn it on, and then when the built-in display turns off after not being used for a while. Too much beeping! 3) The pour spout spills too easily.

Hi chibidani, Salton's temperature control kettle model JK2112 will beep when energized from the default sleep mode. This model will beep to indicate a set temperature. By pressing the power icon, the kettle is now activated. Once the set temperature is reached, the kettle will beep 3 times. The beeps, however frequent, are for your safety.
If there's a loss of control when pouring water from this or any kettle, the flow could be too rapid. Reduce the rate of water being poured to gain control. CustomerCare

Good kettle but...

It heats water very quickly, but I use it for tea which means I heat my water to 90°, and it has no memory, which means that EVERY time I use it, I have to press the temperature button 7 times (100-40-50-60-70-80-90) before starting the kettle. If it started at 100 and went down from there it would only be 1 or 2 button presses for most people: by the way they designed it, it kinda feels like they want people to wear their product out faster... Still, on sale I'd recommend it.
