A: These timers are not real random timers. The on/off times are different for each day. But sequence repeats every week.

Q: Can I set this for M-F and off on the weekends? Also, does it work with high voltage appliances?

A: Settings are manual. If you want the timer off on weekends you have to be there to put the selector switch to "OUTLET ON". Should not be used with high voltage appliance...no ground.

Q: What does 10-6-2 mean? It looks like there's a 24 hour cycle, seven days a week, but the two blocks of 10-6-2 don't make sense to me?

A: This indoor mechanical timer (CTC#052-8805) is a vacation weekly timer. It is pre-set with various times throughout the week. The 10-6-2 function is only for setting the current time.

A: La minuterie est une minuterie de vacances qui peut être utilisée pour donner l'impression que quelqu'un est à la maison. Aucune programmation n'est nécessaire car la minuterie dispose de 14 réglages aléatoires marche/arrêt prédéfinis par semaine. La seule chose que le client doit faire est de régler l'heure actuelle et la minuterie fait le reste.

A: Timer 052-8805-4 Instruction Manual Setting the timer 1). Rotate the Timer’s dial clockwise until the pointer is aligned with the current day and time. 2). Set the Timer to the “TIMER ON” position. 3). Plug the Timer into a household outlet, and plug the appliance into the timer. 4) Turn on the appliance. The Timer is not able to activate the appliance if the appliance is off. The appliance will now turn on and off at a random pattern setting. 5) The pre-set On/Off commands can be interrupted by using the manual override switch located on the top of the unit. When switched to the OUTLET ON position, the connected appliance is switched on permanently. To reactivate the timer’s control of the appliance, turn the appliance on and set the timer’s override switch to TIMER ON. Specifications 125VAC 60Hz 15A/1875W Resistive, 125VAC 60Hz 10A/1250W Tungsten. Min. Temperature: 0℃ Max. Temperature: 55℃ CAUTION: Load must not exceed rated capacity. Precautions • For indoor use only. • Always ensure that the plug of any appliance is fully inserted into the Timer. • If you need to clean the Timer, remove from the mains and wipe with a dry cloth. • Do not immerse the Timer in water or any liquid. • Fan heaters and heaters with exposed elements should not be left unattended, and it is not recommended that this type of appliance be connected to timers.
