Bought this replacement toilet seat specifically for the slow close feature. Have to say it works perfectly. Installation was fairly strait forward, the hardest part was pulling the knobby rubber tube through the holes in the toilet, and then screwing it down.

Installation recommendation

I am reviewing this product as BOTH a 1 STAR and a 5 STAR so that future purchasers won’t have installation problems. There are many people having returned this product due to installation problems. I only read this after I bought the seat. I had it installed in 15 minutes without issues. Unfortunately, I will agree the instructions that come with it are very confusing. Here's what you need to do. Once you've removed the old seat, clean the area, including the holes.Then ensure the holes of the toilet and the seat are aligned so that the seat fits properly over the toilet bowl. If slightly too far forward or backward from the front of the toilet, the square plastic slats can be adjusted slightly by turning them 90 degrees depending on how it sits over the toilet bowl. Then simply put a small amount of vaseline on the rubber inserts and slide them into the holes of the toilet from the top. Then insert the white plastic washers into the holes of the seat and align the holes so that you can see the holes of the rubber inserts. Take the long screws and place them into the holes and use a philips screwdriver to tighten them while holding the seat aligned with the side of the toilet. Hope this helps everyone.

Installation Issues

I would give the toilet seat a better rating if it wasn't for the hardware. The seat closes quietly as expected but the hardware is impossible to secure tightly. The black rubber kept pushing through the hole or the screw would bunch up the rubber which would not allow the cover to snap on properly. After much frustration, I have the seat somewhat attached (still not 100% secure)
