From pre-lit twinkling trees to flocked to slim, there are many options to suit your style and space. Check out our quick guide on selecting the perfect Christmas tree.
Tree height
As a general rule, try to keep at least 6 inches between the top of your tree and the ceiling.
• Under 6 ft: Perfect for small spaces, tabletops, and secondary rooms.
• 6 – 6.5 ft: Designed to fit low to average ceiling heights.
• 7 – 7.5 ft: Suitable for most spaces with average ceiling height.
• 9 – 12 ft: Ideal for homes with high ceilings.
Tree materials
Most artificial trees are made with a combination of PVC and PE needles to create a traditional or realistic look.
• Traditional material (PVC): Most affordable and made from classic PVC needles.
• Realistic (PVC & PE): Made with a mix of PVC and PE needles for a true-to-life look.
• Most realistic (PE): Made with PE needles, modelled after real evergreen branches.
Tree shape
Choose a full-size Christmas tree if you have a spacious area and a narrow or slim tree for small spaces.
• Full: Classic full profile and sturdy branches.
• Narrow: Slightly more narrow than full for smaller spaces.
• Slim/pencil: The slimmest style to fit small spaces.
• Potted: Choose a potted tree for easy indoor or outdoor decor.
• Half: Half trees sit flush against the wall to maximize space.
Pre-lit vs. unlit trees
If you want more freedom to experiment with lights, an unlit tree is the best choice. If you prefer a tree that’s easy to assemble, go for the pre-lit Christmas tree. To make setup even faster, look for trees that feature Quick Connect technology.
