Vida by PADERNO Wireless Remote BBQ Food & Meat Thermometer with Stainless Steel Probes

So to be entirely fair and honest, for the first 3 or 4 uses of this product it worked incredibly well. I used it on the BBQ where the probe base magnetized to one of the side tables perfectly and the temperatures were reading great. The doneness temperature presets do not take into account any sort of a resting period, so if you’re using the presets you WILL overcook a steak for sure, and not by a small amount. Thankfully you can manually set temperatures on each probe pretty easily so it’s not necessary to use the presets. Our problem arose on our last (4th or 5th) use of the product. Mid-way through cooking one of the probes began doing some weird things. First it gave an error code, then began displaying negative temperatures… on an actively cooking steak. Then the other began doing the same. They’d both begin bouncing between errors, negatives, positive-but-super-low temps, and then maybe close to actual temperature, then on to something random again. Thankfully I had access to another thermometer to do quick checks during cooking but it meant I took far longer and was at risk of over-doing our steaks. Still not sure at this point if it was an issue with the probes (in which case maybe spare probes should be provided or readily available for purchase) or if the issue lies in the main unit. Long and short of it - if you want / need a cheap thermometer where the main unit can be carried around with you while the meat cooks, this could be good for you… but you could also spend more and get something that works better for longer.

Stopped working after two uses

Blue tooth worked up to 30 feet away perfectly and the self storage is amazing! Nothing I hated more than going to get my old ones and they would somehow get tangled with everything in the cupboard.
