30cc Troy bilt
I bought this at Canadian Tire in Weyburn Saskatchewan but realized on getting it home that my other Troy Bilt I have(even though being a smaller cc and a 2 stroke) can in fact use the same attachments. I therefore returned it and got the Hedgetrimmer and Brush Cutter attachments and they do a good job!

Hard to start and does not run well.
I bought this unit summer June 6/ 2025, I used it once in June and once in Aug 4/2025, hard to start even following the instructions, have to run it on half choke or it will stall. It's hung up in my garage and I'll only use it if I really have too. I don't get it I had a Troy Bilt gas, 4 stroke trimmer for 17 years with no problems, started second pull and ran great, the carburator went on it so I bought this new one which is a little bigger and thought it would be better then the last one I had, WRONG its an expensive ornament in my garage.

waste of money.

Purchased 2 years ago. Not abused and well maintained, it seems to have blown a piston ring or something. It starts and runs but has started smoking, uses a lot of oil and lacks power. The string trimmer head was garbage from the day I bought it. there is definitely a design flaw in the trimmer head. Today, the trimmer developed a severe vibration thar made it impossible to use and I suspect the engine is close up catastrophic failure so... I guess I'll cut my losses and go shopping. keeping in mind to never... ever opt for Troy Bilt products again.

A: A previous user states that these are NOT quick attach attachments. In fact they ARE quick attach.
I have been using this trimmer for 5 years on a 5.5 acre property with 5 acres of grass. This has been a fantastic tool.

A: It is not a attachment just a singular blade not changing the head or adding a different attachment just unscrewing the current head and swapping with blade of same arbor size

Q: How does the blade get attached to the cutter?
The cutter came with the grass cutting device attached. The manual/instructions that came with the machine does not have a section that tells me how to remove the grass cutting device and attach the brush cutting blade.

A: I got mine in 2005 so if the design hasn't changed, here's how: There's a round shape metal bar supplied with the brush cutter. You must first insert the end of this bar through the hole just above the grass cutting attachment so that you lock the shaft. Once the shaft is locked and cannot turn, you grab the grass cutting attachment and unscrew it by turning clockwise (yes, it's a reverse thread bolt). Once it's off, you can insert the blade and install the large washer and nut that is supplied with the brush cutter. You keep the shaft locked while tightening the nut by turning counter-clockwise and voilà !

A: Thank you for your question. Troy-Bilt has not tested aftermarket accessories for use with this powerful tool. For safety and best performance we do not recommend use of non-original replacement parts.
