Great price for this replacement bulb!!

This is the replacement bulb for my Swordfish air purification system. It's such a good and reasonable system to purify the air in my house. My vet recommended it for my dogs that had allergies and it's great for humans too!!

I have bought 2-3 at once to tap into canadian tire rewards and gift cardsonly to find out a few years from now that when I go to use them the bulb does not work. I've reached out to the swordfish people in greater Toronto twice and they did not answer or replace. I have even emailed and offered to drop off for their review as it isn't even black.

Q: How long does a bulb usually lasts??

A: It depends on the size of your home, and how frequently your heat or a/c is turned on. Best to buy a spare bulb or two, and keep it in the box, ready to swap when the red light goes on.

Q: How often should you replace a UVA36WLR ultra violet lamp?

A: Once a year. The swordfish unit has a sensor and tells you when it is in need of replacement. A light will come on.

Q: Why is red lamp on with a new Swordfish replacement bulb when I installed a new replacement bulb on the head and connect power, both blue and red lights were on. What's the problem? I know when the red lamp is on, the bulb should be replaced; why is the red lamp on with new bulb?

A: There was a batch of bad bulbs - i bought 3 when they were on sale and all 3 were duds - and off warranty before I realised it.
