I was looking for a well vented hamper with a lid. We have a couple cats that like to use my hamper as a bed, the lid does the job keeping them out, plus it's easy to carry to the machines, narrow enough to go through a pass through pet gate, but not so narrow that it tips over easily. Lid is hinged on one side and works smoothly. Bought a second one for my daughter with her 4 cats! She loves it.
