Having extra SodaStream cartridges is a scam

I feel very misled by the exchange program. SodaStream encourages owners to keep spare cartridges so you never run out, but fails to clearly disclose that if you don’t exchange an empty cartridge at the time of purchase, the deposit is effectively lost. There is no way to recover the $20 deposit later. I learned this the hard way when I brought two empty cartridges to customer service at Canadian Tire and was told they were worthless on their own and only have value when exchanged for a new cartridge. As a result, I am out $40. Frankly, I feel cheated.

Don’t want soda but want carbonation? Yes!

I love using the soda stream to carbonate anything. The co2 filter works amazing and gets the job done. It also lasts a pretty long time. Price wise it’s not that bad because it’s worth it.

A: Anyone saying you only get $1 back is a liar and committing fraud. Canadian Tire website even states the $20 is refundable... it states the following.A core charge, sometimes called a casting charge, is a form of deposit you pay for returning a used article for recycling. If you do not have the used item with you at the time of purchase of the replacement, you must pay the core charge. That charge is refunded to you when you return the used container.. Right there its in black & white, fully refundable deposit.
