Garbage lock from a supposed leader in locks

There must be 5 year olds doing qualify control in these. Same issues as all the other reviews mention. Save yourself some time and hassle and spend a bit more on a smart lock you can use with your phone or buy one that doesn't require you to manually turn the keyset "knob".

Don't Buy

As the other reviewers have mentioned, this lock will turn endlessly in colder months and you will constantly struggle to get into your own home. It is especially frustrating if you have items in your hand, walking your animals, etc. This should not be an issue. I originally thought it was the older product that we purchased that was the issue so we bought this newer version of the Schlage lock and SAME issues. Just brutal.

Unreliable

I installed this unit in July 2019. By late September I started experiencing the same problems as the other reviewers have indicated. In my case, the unit fails to engage in cool and damp conditions. I was able to acquire a replacement but within a couple of months that unit is having the same issue. Oddly enough, I purchased the same model for a different door in September of 2018. That unit has not had any problems. This issue can be found in many reviews, the newer versions of this item simply do not seem to work properly.

Read reviews before buying

Bought 3 of theses a year ago and only 1 is still working. All have had problems in cold weather within a few months of purchase and 2 need multiple tries to engage the bolt now.

Terrible Mechanics

I bought this about 1 year ago and the internal mechanism has failed. The spring in the inside that lets you engage the turn knob to open and close the deadbolt has warn out. Now when I type my code, the turn knob keeps spinning without moving the deadbolt. I can’t open or close the lock without using my key. This is a known issue. Several YouTube videos show you exactly how to adjust it by taking it apart. I tried it and it worked for about a day or two and then the same thing happens again. Super frustrating. Going to replace it now.
