Perfect for my available space!

Easy to put together because I had an easy to understand assembly instruction sheet to guide me. They look great framing the bar in my den. One thing that was missing, though, was the card with screw covers. Neither of the two bookcases had them. I did request a few weeks ago that they be sent to me. I have not received them yet.

Lengthy assembley

This took forever to assemble, partly because the side panels are each in 2 pieces, rather than 1 long side each, right and left.This also makes it less stable, with a separate top and bottom half. It's only cherry veneer, but it was on sale for a good price, and it's now functionally useful. Wish the shipping had been more efficient -- it was a very long wait.

Bought two of these a couple years ago and they are very sturdy and look great for the price. Still in terrific shape today with a lot of use over the time I've had them. Very likely to go back for another to fill up too!

Q: Sauder 5-Shelf Oak Bookcase - I bought this bookcase and would like to add extra shelves. I've looked several places and nobody has matching shelves Where can I buy additional shelves?

A: Yes, you can purchase additional shelves from the manufacturer but the price of the shelves + shipping to Canada is not worth it...It is cheaper to buy another bookcase (especially when it is on special) and only use the shelves you need from them...I bought 3 bookcase, built 2 and used the shelves from the 3rd one...

A: It certainly can handle additional shelves, but the space between shelves would then be quite narrow. Good for long, flat stuff.

A: The Sauder 5-Shelf Oak Bookcase is made of an environmentally friendly material called “engineered wood.” It’s a combination of high-quality hard wood and soft wood residuals of other lumber processes. These components are bonded together with a synthetic resin and then applied to high heat and pressure. The result is a dense, strong panel that is laminated and cut into pieces.
