I have an old driveway, and I seal it annually with Ultimate. It goes on nice and thick, and you can instantly notice it revitalizing the asphalt. I've used other products but most seem watery. Ultimate is almost pure solids. Why pay for water??? Ultimate is BETTER than airport grade!!!

A: Odor is not bad in my opinion. Sets up quickly. Just did not last for me... Significant damage in one year. Better than the cheap stuff, but barely.

Q: Will this work on a sloped shed roof that presently has asphalt shingles (to be applied over the shingles)?

A: Although the product does have a thick viscosity, I doubt it would adhere well to the surface you are intending. Both surfaces resist absorption, and even on my driveway I have found it to be a less that satisfying product. Perhaps a tar based adhesive would be better suited as a substitute. Good luck!

A: Hi KUKU, Apply our Rust-Oleum Ultimate Driveway Sealer only when air, material, and surface temperatures are between 10-32°C (50-90°F) and the relative humidity is below 85% and no rain is forecasted for 48 hours. Surface temperature should not exceed 38°C (100°F). Avoid applying coating in direct sunlight. If pavement is extremely hot, apply a fine water mist prior to coating and brush out any remaining water puddles. Dry times are based on 21°C (70°F). Allow for longer dry times at cooler temperatures. Allow sealer to dry for 1 hour prior to foot traffic and 4 hours prior to vehicle traffic. We hope this new information is helpful.

Q: Is there any products that rustoleum has for prep before applying the sealer? Can you apply with a squeegee?

A: Hi, Great question! We recommend our Krud Kutter Original Cleaner & Degreaser for prep of your driveway. You can follow up with our EpoxyShield Premium Spot Cleaner for any stubborn areas. As well, a squeegee can be used for application. Please keep in mind, this sealer is to be applied thin as it is not a repaver.
