A great plunge cut capable mini circular saw

I have owned and used my Versacut for a little under a year and a half and it along with my BladeRunner X2 saw has proven to be one of the most important tools I own. I know some say it cannot replace a 7-1/4 inch circular saw because it cannot cut 2 x 4s, but try safely plunge cutting into a shed roof with a standard 7-1/4 inch circular saw without damaging the rafters and studs and without kickback. The ability to easily make plunge cuts even in the middle of stock is great. Also, it will cut sheets of plywood, trim boards, etc. which make up the typical stock sizes I deal with. The assortment of blades it comes with is also very handy. I was finishing a tile countertop when my tile saw stopped working. Fortunately I had my Versacut with me which allowed me to finish the job by using the dry cut tile blade that came with it. Also, I really like the fact that it weighs less than half the weight of my 7 1/4 inch circular saw. This, along with my cordless drill, hammer, level and BladeRunner X2 is a tool I always carry with me.

Perfect tool For The Job

My DYI home project required replacing approximately 200 solid vinyl soffits with vented vinyl soffits. Perfect saw for the job, easier to use and more accurate cuts than using my larger saw.

Yes, I recommend this product.

dislike the start button location, too difficult.

sorry I bought it, a 7..25 " would have been a better choice.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great design

I am a contractor and have 2 of these at my disposal. Have been cutting hardy/concrete board with the vacuum attachment for over 6years. Tool never failed. Noticed you have to use vacuum attachment on tool for straight cuts in plywood. Can't wait for new version of tool.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Best saw ever !

I've had mine for seven years, This is one tool I do not loan, I like it the way it is and rarely do borrowed tools come back the same way they went out. Best all around saw ever. I always have it in my tool bag. Sadly my spindle clamping screw sheared; where can I find a replacement?

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

Q: Can you cut a 45 degree angle with it?

2 Answers
  • A: The base has no angle adjustment. Considering the depth of cut it would not be practical to do an angle cut on most pieces of wood. They would only be cut part way through.

  • A: The adapter that come with the saw has a 1.25 inch inside diameter. I used the ShopVac universal adapter to connect it to my 2.5 vaccum.

Q: Love Canadian tire but why do they sell saws they do not carry replacement blades for ? After searching the city for replacement blade I have returned the saw . Have concerns about ordering things online .

  • A: I just picked up 2 extra wood blades and have also seen the others available in the same bin at CT. You will most likely not find the blades in the same isle as the Versacut, rather where all the other saw blades in-store are. :)

Q: I believe the saw model shown is a Model # RK3440K. Not the Model # RK3441K as listed in the specs. The Model # RK3441K uses a 4.5" blade.

Q: The feature information says the Versacut is compatible with 4-3/8" - 4-1/2" blades. How does this work as there are no istructions for this? I took a 4.5" blade out to try the compatibility but can't seem to figure out how the blade could work as it it too wide to even insert .

1 Answer
  • A: We apologize for any confusion, but the Rockwell Versacut can only accept 3-3/8” Blades. If there is information displaying that they can use a different blade size than it would need to be updated because they are unable to use a different blade size apart from 3-3/8”.
