Thank you for your feedback. The FoodSaver VS1230 Space‑Saving Vacuum Sealer works best with dry foods, so we understand the difficulty you experienced when sealing boiled chicken. When foods contain moisture, the liquid can be pulled into the vacuum channel, which prevents the bag from sealing properly.
A few tips that can help with juicy or moist foods:
1. Pre‑freeze the food for 1–2 hours before sealing to firm up the moisture and prevent liquid from being drawn out.
2. Use a paper towel barrier inside the bag (placed above the food but below the sealing line) to catch excess moisture.
3. Pat the food very dry before placing it in the bag.
4. Use the “Seal Only” function first to create a barrier, then vacuum‑seal above that line.
5. Make sure the drip tray is clean and dry, as moisture can stop the machine from sealing.
