Great life jacket

Excellent life jacket for 20-30lbs. We bought this for my 14 month old grandson. Zipper in the back ensured he couldn’t get out of it on his own. Great product for a great price!

This fits very small. I have a 25lb 17 month old and cannot zip up the back.

Q: Is this USCG approved ???

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. Please be advised that the Puddle Jumper is approved for children between 30 and 50 lbs. It is approved as a Type V/III PFD, which means it must be worn to meet the USCG carriage requirements and it has Type III characteristics. It should be used on children who are comfortable in the water and who can turn themselves in the water. It will not turn a user onto their back from a face down position.

Q: This is listed as a PFD which are not designed specifically to put a baby face up. Does this one put baby face up and out of the water?

A: there was no self-righting water performance test conducted in the ULC testing for this vest. However the PFD meets all requirements for Transport Canada PFD standards, which will keep child float and allows the child to keep their head above water.
