Won't last long

my 8 year old remote start key fob started to stop working & I was told I should try a battery. Bought this & installed it & it worked 4 times & quit again. Went to the dealer & they installed a battery from their supplier & told me that most batteries from Box Stores are already old / seconds. Remote works great with the dealers battery...
