Loud and it doesn't properly replace the older cartridge I removed.

This cartridge should come with a warning. This Moen 1225 is a replacement for a number of older cartridges, including the 12801. The problem is that the 1225 is slightly longer than the 12801 and doesn't easily fit. There are numerous threads on the internet describing how people have bent the clips or filed down the barrel to make it fit. I was able to eventually make the cartridge fit by drilling a hole in the plastic fitting tool (the white plastic piece you see on the end). However, by time I managed to make it work, I had ruined one cartridge by repeateded removing it and I had to buy a second one. Also, when running the water, this cartridge is noticeably and annoyingly louder than the one it replaced.

So far so good! Keep the original copper clips that you remove as the new ones have an extra bump on them that prevent them from clipping in properly.
