Crab Grass!!!

I bought this a couple months ago, and everywhere I put the seed, crab grass grew!!! My lawn is more of a mess now than it was before. Do not recommend this product!

Q: Perennial or Annual Ryegrass? CT team has answered that it contains Perennial Ryegrass. In an alternate answer CT states it is Annual. Which one?

A: This not only contains annual ryegrass but also intermediate ryegrass. Both of which are junk species of grass seed that will most likely not survive winter. Some lower quality grass seed companies use them as “fillers” to make up a protion of the weight of the product. They germinate quickly so there is a better chance of “success” visually so people are happy. I would stick with Scott’s over this stuff. Also do not buy any grass seed that when you ask what the percentage of species is going are giving the sad answer of “This is considered proprietary information.” You have no idea what you’re buying and if a company can’t tell the customer what a product they are selling them contains then there is something wrong.

Q: Is this an annual or perennial? Nothing in the description or on the package states which type of grass this is.

A: It's grass, so once it's in, it's in. it will yellow in the off season under the snow, but it will green up quickly in the spring. We have had a lot of success with this seed. Better to sow it in the spring at the start of the growing season. Try not to over sow it for the first application. If you lay it too thick it can hold the moisture of the rain and watering too close and make it too thick to cut. better to apply it once, let it grow a bit and then sow more once you see where it missed.

Q: For best result, when is the appropriate time to apply fertilizer if i am using this seed? Can I apply fertilizer immediately after applying the seeds or do I wait? If I have to wait, how long do I have to wait before appying fertilizer?

A: When planting grass seed you should wait until most of the seeds have germinated. It also depends on the fertilizer you are using, so please follow the directions on the fertilizer you have chosen.

A: There is no fertilizer in this mix. You should follow the instructions on the fertilizer you use to judge when to apply after planting.
