Q: Weird thing I can’t explain: I just bought 3 sets of these lights. They charged up fine, but they only come on if I turn the charging cells face down. Help???

A: There could be other ambient lighting that the panel sensor is picking up. They should come on when it is dark. So turning the cells upside down will mimic that. Make sure the bulbs are not right beside the solar panel.

Q: Should the ‘on’ switch be on indefinitely? If it is off will the solar panel still charge?

A: "On" is exactly that. If its not on, it wont charge. I only turn mine off when I put them away.

Q: How bright are these bulbs compared to the plug-in version of this style of outdoor string lights?

A: Hello XOys, Your solar string lights will not be as bright as the strings powered by 120 volts of electricity. Completely charged, the total lumen output of your string of lights is 30 lumens, which is on the softer side.

A: You can use any rechargeable battery. Just check the size ie AA, AAA etc. and also the m/Ah (the higher then number the better). The person Carina99 is mistaken that "no batteries needed" doesn't understand that there has to be a battery to store the energy, all solar lights have a least 1 battery!

A: I assume you can. I take ours down and replace them with Christmas lights. As these are solar powered lights they may not emit much lumination in the winter months.
