Q: Rough use light bulbs come in 100 Watts, but unit says Maximum 75 Watts. What can be used for Garage Opener having Rough Use needs of only 75 Watts or less?

A: Canadian Tire now carries a LED garage door opener bulb (CTC #152-2797). It is equivalent to 100W and uses only 14W.

I can’t believe Canadian Tire asked me to write a review on a light bulb!!! But here goes….this is, without a doubt, the best light bulb I’ve ever purchased! I had a bulb that burnt out in my garage door opener and I bought this bulb to replace it. When I put it in the garage door opener and I opened my garage door, I couldn’t believe what I saw. The bulb came on and stayed on until it turned off. I mean, it was pure perfection.

Light bulb comparison

NOMA light bulbs seem to work great - hopefully they'll last longer than the ones from Dollarama which seem to explode or fall apart when removing.
