Q: can i cook a whole chicken in my ninja foodie delux
4 years agoA: Yes. I pressure cook on high for 6 mins per pound. Then quick release steam. After pressure is released, remove pressure lid and close crisper lid and cook on crisp @ 400° for 15 mins. Then check chicken temp to make sure it’s at least 165° in the thighs.

3 years agoA: Most likely yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. The jars pinging on the non stick surface for a long period of time would most likely damage it.

Q: It shows that it is dishwasher safe, is this true? As I see someone noted it’s not but the description shows it is.
a year agoA: To clean the cooker base and control panel, wipe them with a damp cloth. The cooking pot, silicone ring, reversible rack, Cook & Crisp Basket, and detachable diffuser can be washed in the dishwasher. The pressure lid, including the pressure release valve and anti-clog cap, can be hand-washed with warm water and dish soap.

2 years agoA: Absolutely not. You must use an actual pressure canner to safely pressure can foods.

Q: Would there be any issues regarding chemical off gassing with this product that is unsafe for pet birds?
2 years agoA: According to the information I found online if the air fryer has a teflon coating, at certain temperatures the air fryer may heat to the point of causing the teflon coating to off gas which is apparently harmful to birds. That being said I would guess that it would depend on what your main uses for it are. There are other articles which say to use it in a well ventilated space and keep away from bird cages. I would definitely err on the side of caution though. The model I have does have a teflon coating on the pot as well as on the fryer basket but I have seen others that don't. Might just be a case of "check it over before buying". Something else to keep in mind is that if you won't be giving the heating element a regular clean you will get a build up over time which can cause that "smoky greasy spoon" sort of smell. Look for an air fryer with easy access to the elements cuz nobody likes that smell especially the birdies!
