Not Reliable

Purchased two years ago. Boosted two cars. kept in a cool dry place, charged it every 3 months. it now doesn't hold a charge, percentage indicator says zero all the time and when I attempt to plug something in to test it, after a few minutes it starts to beep very loud.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: can i use this as a battery charger?

4 Answers
  • A: This product is not a battery charger; it cannot itself charge a boat battery. That said, in theory, you could use this product to power a battery charger (i.e. plug a battery charger into it). Realistically, however, it is unlikely the power pack itself would have sufficient capacity to allow you to fully charge a battery (depending, of course, on how big a battery it is and how discharged it is). It probably has sufficient capacity to charge (via a battery charger) a motorcycle battery but not a car or boat battery, for instance.

Q: Will this unit run a sleep apnea breathing machine for 8 hours straight?

  • A: I used mine for ResMed Airsense 11 CPAP and it's good for 1 night without the humidifier. This power pack says it has a modified sine wave inverter as compared to a pure sine wave inverter. Modified sine wave inverters are not recommended for CPAP as far as I have read. I keep seeing EXPION EXP96 PRO battery as a good battery for CPAP use but it needs the correct connection cord (cord is available). This battery and cord will be about $1000 CDN so am still studying my options.

Q: Hey can I run a small heater with this to heat my deer stand?

  • A: Check the amps needed by the heater and then the specs for the power pack.... should give you some idea of how long it will work for.....

Q: I am charging the unit now. The green light is flashing and it’s making a ticking noise. The flashing light is good, but what is the ticking noise?

3 Answers
  • A: You many hear a ticking noise (charging cycling on and off) if the internal battery is deeply discharged. This is normal and will cease once the battery recovers to a higher state of charge.

Q: When do I recharge the battery pack ?  I don’t want to recharge prematurely.  Maybe when the display says 50%? Or do I wait for the unit to beep?  Does it even beep ?  Help

  • A: We keep it plugged in all the time as we have work vehicles that sit for extended periods of time. Have never heard it beep.

Q: Can you leave the charger on all the time on this unit, or will it overcharged. There are two contradictory answers to this question/answer board. The older units with the built in pump recommended doing this, the manual on this one does not advise.

  • A: I would top it up then stop charging. If you use it, top it up again, otherwise wait a few weeks or more to trickle charge it again to see if it will accept a top up

  • A: Comme l'expert l'a annoncé, 2.5 heures serait plutôt probable. Il faut compter le fait que l'onduleur intégré causera beaucoup de perte de puissance qui sera perdue en chaleur etc, alors on ne peut pas évaluer le temps de marche en utilisant la loi normale.

Q: I have just charging the Power Pack for the first time, and the green light is not flashing it is solid Green. Do I keep on charging and for how long?

3 Answers
  • A: Green light is flashing when charging and stays on solid when unit is fully charged. I use one of these for powering my electronics while camping and couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase.

Q: I use this battery to power my lift chair in case of a power outage as a backup. Can I leave this chair plugged into the battery unit when I'm recharging the battery to keep using my chair or is that not a good thing to do.

2 Answers
  • A: It’s actually not a good idea to use the power pack while it’s charging .do you use the power pack all the time rather than being plugged into the wall? Or. can you plug the chair into the wall while the power pack is recharging. This is probably your best scenario
