[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own two businesses (Custom woodworking and Homemade Decor) and Minwax Polycrylic (in its many forms) is always my go to top coat! I love that I have the versatility of choosing which sheen I want for each project. It really gives each item that custom finish.

A: Not really you can always see strokes whether using a rag or a brush. If u apply extremely thin coats u wont have an issue. But if u dont need a waterbased product i would use a polyurethane you will get better results

Q: Many products say 'quick dry' and then follow up with 'no regular traffic for 7 days'. Can this take regular traffic (up and down the loft stairs) after 2 hours? I wish the info on the can was provided here.

A: This product is quick drying but recommend for interior use only. I've only used it for trim and never on flooring. I would recommend a true polyurethane for floors. Minwax makes a quick-dry version of that.

Q: It says ultra-fast drying. So...how fast does it dry . Ive got 3 cats who countersurf and need it dry to put cardboard on till cured.please and thanks.

A: Thank you for your question. The Ultra Fast Polyurethane dries in 2 hours and can be recoated. We do not recommend covering the urethane while it dries otherwise it will not set up correctly. Sincerely, L.T., Digital Care Team

Q: Can I use this as a top coat on a painted piece of concrete? Or is it only good for wood?

Q: Can this coat be applied over melamine finished table top?

A: Yes it can – please spot test it first as it may be slightly ambered in appearance over certain colours. If OK then complete the following: 1. Surface must be dry and free of wax, grease, polish, old finishes in poor condition (clean). 2. Stir well before and regularly during use. DO NOT SHAKE. FINISH APPEARS MILKY IN CAN BUT DRIES CRYSTAL CLEAR. 3. Apply a thin coat of Polycrylic® with a high-quality synthetic bristle brush. Let dry at least 2 hours then sand with very fine sandpaper (220 grit) to ensure an even finish and proper adhesion of additional coats. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. 4. Apply second coat. For additional coats allow 3 hours between coats.
