Doesn’t last -broken after 3 seasons& no warranty so out $400

Bought this unit and used it for 3 years successfully. Was happy but then it died and warranty is of course expired, so basically cost me $133 per season. 3-4 years is not a reasonable life span for a supposedly high quality and high cost appliance.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great dehumidifier, highly recommended!

I bought this dehumidifier to replace a 50 L one that I had for the last few years. This one is much quieter, but still noticeable. However, the advantages are big for me. The humidistat readings are accurate! It reads the same as another one that I use around the house. The water bin is huge, meaning I don't have to worry about forgetting to empty the bin everyday. Lastly, even though this is rated as 35L, I find it pulls just as much water out of the air as my old 50L did.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Maybe Moldy?

This is a great and long lasting unit. I would give more stars if I was able to properly clean it! It is impossible to clean the AC fins etc, so the interior has become musty moldy smelling. I have sent an email to the support centre, and hopefully can update this review to more stars ASAP Please help me fix this,.Midea!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good performance so far

I purchased this dehumidifier solely for its design where the condensation apparatus sits enclosed within the water collection container. I’ve had several dehumidifiers over the years and they tend to leak and drain water if they are one degree off of level on any axis. Nowhere near as good as older dehumidifiers. Consequently, I have had damage to my flooring and had to resort to placing the dehumidifier inside a winter boot tray (excellent quality bought from Canadian Tire, by the way!) which is just frustrating and ridiculous. One would think that the manufacturers would design and build better quality than I’ve experienced. This one is quite quiet and efficient. I would have given five stars, but emptying the water collection tank tends to be messier than the dehumidifiers that this one is replacing. Guess nothing is perfect!

Happy to have a drier ground floor suite

Our previous dehumidifier started leaking and could not be repaired. We subscribe to Consumer Reports. They rated Midea with the highest rating. We need it for a ground level suite. It is very humid in the suite during the spring, summer and fall. The unit is easy to assemble. The app is fantastic to use if you decide to download. It is so quiet compared to our previous one. With our previous dehumidifier I use to close the bedroom doors at night. Also needed to turn the volume up on my TV. Now I don’t need to do either. The top part easily fits over the bucket. I do find the top is heavy to lift when I need to empty the bucket. We do not use the drain hose. We set it up so it shuts off automatically when full. It quickly sucks moisture out of the air. You can set up 4 levels of water collection. The first time I set up it up as level 4. I could not wheel and lift the bucket to empty. Needed to wheel it outside to dump in our outdoor drain. Level 3 was also too heavy. Now it is set up on 2 and easier to empty. The size is larger than most rectangular dehumidifiers. We have it set up in our living room corner away from the walls. I do wish I bought the 20 pint Midea dehumidifier.

Q: Is this product (or the 50 pint version) one 15 X 15 X15 (ish) cube or 2 stacked together. There are pics of both.

  • A: Hi, SLianne. Thanks for your question regarding the Midea 35-Pint Cube Dehumidifier. The entire model will be like the one in the stacked photo. The smaller cube you're seeing is just the unit when it's in the nested shipping/storage position. You'll need to rotate the dehumidifier 90° and align the arrows on the two labels (one on the bucket and one on the dehumidifier) and carefully sit the dehumidifier down onto the bucket/tank. Q: How do I setup drain from hose while stacked on base?

2 Answers
  • A: I believe you only use the hose when it’s not on the base.  I use the hose and have the unit sitting beside a basement sink but you could also have the hose drain into a floor drain.  I haven’t been using the base.
