Good Saw

I bought this saw on sale and it is a great saw. It's got power and the base is nice. There is an edge guide in the box and I almost threw it out so make sure you get it out of the box.

A good saw that handles the tough jobs well, straight cuts and markings on side to see where you cut at a glance. Good weight to hold the saw straight and on line! A great saw for the beginner to the tradesman.

Q: Are you able to fine-tune the pitch of the blade to ensure 90 degree cut with this saw?

A: If you would like to make slight adjustment to make saw blade to be 90 degree with base, you may use a hex wrench (5mm) to turn and adjust the depth of the hex screw in the base (marked with red circle in the JPG image) until the base is 90 degree with the saw blade.

Q: Can I install a 7.24" diamond blade on this saw to cut pavers? I understand it will cause damage to the saw. But will the damage be so great that I should not even try?

A: In a simple answer yes you can but, there is a potential for damage to the saw. Some things to consider: · You need to select the correct blade with the appropriate arbor size, designed for cutting pavers with a continuous rim that works dry not wet. The down side with a dry cut is it is extremely dusty (fine dust) and the 54-8330 is designed to cut wood (larger dust particles). Over a prolonged period this fine dust could pose a issue with the 54-8330 and would not be covered under warranty. · The 54-8330 is a high rpm style saw 5600rpm and typical tile saws are low a low rpm design 3500rpm. Some consideration needs to be given on how you will hold/support the paver while moving the saw thought it. With the high rpm the potential for binding or kick back is greater. · With the added cost of the blade and the potential damage to the saw another option would be to rent the correct tool, use a paver snap cutter or hammer and chisel. Of course these options would depend on the amount of work needed to be done and availability in your location.

Q: Does it come with a blade brake? A blade brake stops the blade a couple of seconds after you release the trigger. That way you don't have to wait for the blade to stop spinning. A blade brake is highly recommended as a safety feature.
