Inaccurate

Inaccurate, my plastic caliper that I bought for 2 dollars is more accurate than this. Way off by 0.3mm. The scale is not align to zero.

The markings are very difficult to read. I was able to enhance them somewhat using a marker to blacken the engraved lines, but even so the result was barely adequate.

These are well manufactured with a decent stamped vernier. The only downside is the vernier scale is very short, making reading a bit difficult.

Not as pictured

Unfortunately the caliper sold in the store is not like the one pictured. Instead of being solid metal with the scale etched into the metal, as pictured in the product photos, I was disappointed to discover the caliper sold in the store actually just has a black scale sticker stuck onto the metal. I bought it anyway because I needed a caliper on short notice, but it does feel pretty flimsy and looks cheap. Maybe the sticker is easier to read than the etched metal version, but I worry it will fade, wear and peel over time. I definitely would have preferred the all-metal version. The caliper seems reasonably accurate, at least good enough for my basic needs (measuring decorative items for product listings). Canadian Tire should update the product photos if the sticker version is now the one that they are selling.
