Does the job

I was just checking out CT other electric impacts with higher torque and thought I'd write a review. I owned this impact for probably 8-10 years. The odd time this 3.5 amp impact just won't break free a large stubborn nut/bolt and have to use a breaker bar to crack them lose first. But overall it saves time and had no major problems in all those year that I've owned it. Only complaint is the plastic caps that hold the brushes in the motor, 1 fell off and was never to be seen again. So I wrapped it with duct tape to hold the brush in and been using it like that forever...lol. Still works to this day!

Excellent Impact Wrench

I purchased a corded electric impact wrench since it's occasional use and I didn't want to deal with batteries. I use the impact wrench for the normal household diy use ie. car lug nuts, lawn mower blade nut etc. It works great with no issues for these applications. I chose the 3.5 A impact wrench as compared to the Mastercraft 7.5A or 8.5A since it's much smaller in size/ much lighter and it has a variable speed trigger. The 3.5A impact wrench has 220 ft-lbs which is plenty of torque for household uses. The Mastercraft 7.5A has 240 ft-lbs. torque (not much more than the 3.5A) and the Mastercraft 8.5A has 350 ft-lbs. torque. The home diy-er may want to consider that 350 ft-lbs. torque may be too much torque and one may inadvertently damage nuts/bolts/etc.

Great for working the garage

I Bought this to change all of the tires on my families vehicles(5), it works great and is a lot better than manually taking the nuts off with a breaker bar. turns a afternoon of tire changes to few minutes a vehicle.

All the torque you need.

I purchased this on sale a few weeks ago, I have used it a few times already. I had to remove rusted exhaust header studs, I was unable to budge them with a ratchet due to the tight location and them being seized on. The impact zipped them off with ease.

Good, Until it Died

Worked great the first year. Went to use it the next winter to change tires and it died. Can't find the receipt so just went back to the manual tire wrench. Waste of money

A: While the speed is variable, the torque increases with the speed. It depends on the "finger sensitivity". I have the older model and yep this works.
