A: The Mastercraft 233/150W Soldering Kit is overpowered for the task described. A more suitable product for the task would be the Mastercraft 25W Soldering Iron (058-6305-4) or Mastercraft 30W Pistol Iron (058-6310-0).

Q: Want to solder scaled metal such as brass and stainless steel, would be the rght product?

A: It depends on whether you are soldering solid metal or wires as well as the thickness of the materials. Further, you will need a high content silver solder to solder stainless steel which will require more heat than this tool will provide UNLESS you are soldering thin stainless wire. Most soldering of thick solid metals is best accomplished using a torch.
