Q: how well can this cord with stand the cold? will it get stiff or stay flexible under -20 + temps

A: Hello, All PVC cords will stiffen as the temperature drops. The cord in question was tested at -40C for certification to the CSA Standards. At -20C we expect the cord to begin stiffening as compared to what would be seen at +20C, however it will still bend. If flexibility is important for your application, we suggest looking at the Maximum cords as they have a lower temperature rating and will be more flexible at -20C when compared to this cord. Thanks.

Q: purchased at Canadian Tire a Noma Outdoor Extension cord Contractor Grade 12 gauge with detail 1875 W max *15 A * 125 V...Our generator details all. However the Manual of the Generator indicates that the Amp should be 20 A or higher...The extension cord purchased indicated 15 A.. Does Noma have Outdoors Extension Cords with 20 A ?? or is it safe to us the 15 A cord on this Generator.?

A: 052-2321 50’ 12 gauge 3 prong cord could be used with the generator but it would be operating at its maximum capacity and is not recommended. I would strongly suggest the customer follow the generator’s recommendation of using a proper 10 gauge, 20 amp cord. We sell a generator specific 10 gauge cord (052-1554) for this specific application.
