MASTER Chef Single Burner Hot Plate, Black, 1000W

Makes loud and annoying clicking noises every 8 to 10 seconds, every time the coil cools down (which is normal) and the thermostat's sensor registers this and automatically restarts the unit, along with the green light. When you move the knob from one setting to another - it is fine to make one clicking noise but when you move and set the knob, let's say on (4) and leave it there and you begin slow cooking - while keeping the same temperature setting - let's say (2), simmering Broth or something, the burner keeps clicking like a Metronome every 10 seconds or so, as the T. fluctuates, while the sensor tries to keep it on (2) or whatever the setting is, which in a quiet room can drive you crazy. I had other single coil hot plates like this, from different producers and their T. transitions were silent - this is one totally unnecessary feature or perhaps an engineering error, I changed the unit hoping for better one - it is as loud as the 1st one, so I give up - this is fault of the design, sorry for the bad review, otherwise it is very powerful hot plate, works great and NO chemical toxic smell like other cheap designs, which is very important but this mechanical/circuit fault is unbearable, if they fix this, it is a good product and I want to exchange the one that I have for the new design!!! B.

Just purchased it yesterday, it seems to work quite well, heats really well, hopefully the 1000 watts will be able to boil a big pot on a low to medium heat for longer cooking, like a few hours... no scary fire hazard issues, NO plastic or other metallic smells, very clean, this design emits zero toxic smell or fumes, which is so important, some cheap brands smell like as if you are melting and cooking plastic spoons for your dinner, spiced with metal dust!!!... the body doesn't overheat, so you can handle it... what I need it for is to cook for a long time on a low to medium heat, things like broths etc, hopefully it would work safely for longer cooking times. THE PROBLEM: every time the sensor in the thermostat switches "Gears" - so to say, in order to reflect the current Temperature it makes a loud and very annoying Clicking noise, which for a longer low heat, simmering cooking tasks can drive you insane in a quiet room, the unit is like a mechanical Metronome.... I've used other quiet single-coiled hot plates, burners (B.T.W. single or double-coiled burners are better than the solid plate ones). The sensor's temperature reflecting transitions in them are silent and simmering for a long time, while keeping and eye on the unit for safety reasons is the way to go. This noisy clicking feature is a totally unnecessary circuit addition. Not sure what to do... will drop by Center point mall's location and see if they will allow me to test and find perhaps a less annoying unit, which I doubt, as they are probably the same, standard ones... but if they ever improve this and eliminate the clicking noise, I'LL give all five stars. I'll be happy if I am also allowed to exchange this METRONOME for the new design. THEN I WILL GIVE 500 (Five Hundred Stars). DON'T KNOW HOW MANY STARS TO GIVE now, maybe three... Should I return it now or not, I don't know... can't listen to music with head phones all the time to cover for the lovely clicking drums!!!

I bought the first one and returned it because the frying pan kept flying off it onto the floor ruining meals. The second one unfortunately does the same thing! Maybe it's the bottom surface of the frying pans we use but can't understand why a burner would do this.

Fonctionne très bien. Très rapide pour chauffer et cuisiner. Pratique et facile à ranger. Je voulais seulement un rond d'appoint pour compléter mon autre petit poele et c'est parfait!
