Doesn't work with propane tanks that are exchangeable, as the tanks have a label on them that wraps completely around the tank, thus not allowing the magnetic gauge to stick to the tank to get a reading. I will need to buy an in-line hose indicator gauge, which I didn't see at this store.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. Please Note: The magnet on the Master Chef Magnetic Gas Indicator is strong enough to attach over most propane cylinder labels. If the label on your brand of cylinder is thicker, most labels on propane tanks are removable.

Alternatively, the Master Chef Magnetic Gas Indicator attaches near the base of the propane tank, (under the label) as the propane level falls through the indicator range it will change colour to reflect the temperature variance between gaseous and liquid propane. The gauge can easily be removed (magnetic) to clean off any ice and reattach. Hope this helps!

Can't figure out how it works

I know my tank is less than 1/2, but I have no idea how this is supposed to indicate the propane level. I've placed it on the bottom of the tank as instructed, and had the BBQ lit for 30 minutes, but there is no instruction or diagram explaining what you should see as an indication.

Information:
- In the Summer the bar on the right will be active, in winter the bar on the left will be active.
- This item is designed to work on any size tank.

Directions: Attach the gauge near the base of the propane tank, as the propane level falls through the indicator range it will change colour to reflect the temperature variance between gaseous and liquid propane. The gauge can easily be removed (magnetic) to clean off any ice and reattach.

Does not work!

Do not bother! Does not work at all! Tried on number of tanks in different locations. And you need to return it for full refund to the original store of purchase . I got it in Port Elgin but the manager in my Toronto store was very kind and I got my refund. Stay away from this product, should be delisted
