Don't use food mix supplied with this feeder

This feeder comes with powder to mix with water to make feeder solution. My hummingbirds won't drink it. i tried it in a second (different design, older) feeder as well and they stopped feeding from it too. Just make your own solution....4 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar...heat carefully until sugar dissolves; then cool and refill your feeder. Don't add food colouring.

Absolute piece of junk

This hummingbird feeder appears interesting with top-filling.
Unfortunately, the cheap plastic quality makes the whole thing a mess.
The top seal, the one supposed to create a vacuum, is difficult to thread.
The jar as a whole offers no hand space to assist in creating leverage to screw the top on, basically forced to use finger tips.
The bottom seal, does not seal, therefore constantly drips below.
The two-part screwing-bottom that is supposed to be openable for cleaning is simply a jiggly plastic mess of soft plastic.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Leaks

Second model that I have bought that leaks from the bottom. This like the first feeder, it has a base that consists of two parts that come apart for cleaning. There needs to be a gasket that forms a seal between the two sections that prevent it from leaking. Don't buy a feeder that doesn't have some kind of gasket.

I find that with any hummingbird feeder over flows and leaks if you over fill the feeder. Just fill it half way. Plus hummingbirds dont drink that much in a week. change the feed every week or two and that should do the trick.
P.S. no food colouring needed.
