Igniter quit after the third use. I was able to exchange it at the store for a new torch. So far it works well and I like the flame pattern.

Q: Can this be used on food? I am looking for something I can use in the kitchen on things like Creme Brûlée. Couldn’t find an identified kitchen torch on your website.

A: Hi Michal, Thank you for your question. This MT565C torch is certainly safe to use in the kitchen. However, due to it size and weight it might prove a little cumbersome in the kitchen.. What we would suggest is our model MT525C (Canadian Tire part# 058-7508-6) which is a lighter weight torch, and may be easier to use. Faheem Schroeder

A: This torch reaches a temperature of 2700°F or 1483°C. This torch is primarily used in soft solder applications and not in major welding applications.

Q: Braze stair railing I need to braze a 1/2 wrought iron hand railing to a new landing, most likely a galvanized steel fitting, with this with a Map canister be able to do the job? I don't really want to invest in an Oxy-Ac torch kit for a few small jobs around the house.

A: I would recommend using the TS8000 which will give you a higher heat output and potentially a cleaner job.
