I bought this to sweep light snow and it's okay. It is wider than the average broom and thicker but I'd rate it as medium duty vs heavy duty for this particular job.

Yes, this thing gets the job done. The sweep is almost 6" wider than an ordinary broom. The thick bunch of bristles makes a "clean sweep" of the mess or snow or whatever you're sweeping.
