[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried it for the first time in the new year and the black plastic protective attachment broke into small pieces thus I have to pour the entire smoothie into the waste. I wasn’t applying undue force and the smoothie was banana, yogurt, cut up dates and milk. I wasn’t expecting a brand new appliance to fail so quickly. Now I use it without the protective cover..other than that, it seems to work fine.

Have wanted one for years after buying a Kitchenaid Stand mixer. Used a number of times in the lead up to Christmas and has worked seamlessly. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering a purchase.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Not the KitchenAid we're used to. We had an immersion blender for the last 10 plus years from the same brand after accidentally trying to mix a smoothie which was our error the old emergent blender became not so functional. Because of our experience we decided to buy the new version of the immersion blender from KitchenAid when we opened it immediately we noticed the quality feel of the product wasn't at the same level it felt more plasticky and less likely to last. The blender itself does a fantastic job blending and mixing The variable speed of the button compression is a very nice feature and I do have to say that the blender itself probably does a better job than the old version of the KitchenAid blender we had. However since having had the blender for the last 3 months I've had two separate occasions where the blender has stopped working completely trying to mix a soup and the online information about the tool suggests that it needs time to cool my experience with the unit has been that it's been unable to function for far longer than his advised for the " cool down " period. I need to find the time to reach out to KitchenAid for a warranty claim as there may be something effective with the unit that we have. All things considered when you buy tools nowadays you don't expect them to last this immersion blender does a fantastic job blending mixing as compared to our older version but the durability of the unit is questionable in my opinion which is disappointing because our kitchen is littered with KitchenAid products that we've been happy with for a long time
