Q: Does this sink scratch easily or rust?

A: Thank you for your interest in the Kindred line of sinkware and accessories. Your contact form submission is well received. Please know we treat all customer concerns very seriously and your feedback is important to us. Questions can be sent to ks-info.ca@franke.com I must inform you that all stainless steel sinks will scratch and possibly stain. This is true for any stainless sink manufacturer, and is the same regardless of price or gauge of steel. New stainless sinks are especially susceptible to scratching/staining because they are newly polished and the steel grain is elevated. Anything that rubs across the grain of the stainless steel has potential to leave a mark. Anything stuck in the grain has potential to leave a stain. Many people will state that their 10 year or 20 year old stainless sink looked better than the brand new one. This is true, but not because the steel was better, or is inferior in any way. A brand new stainless steel sink will take time to patina, and over time it will develop it's own finish. The grain will wear down, and scratches become invisible to the eye. And less potential for stains. Bottom grids are a great tool to help protect the bottom of the sink from the worst of scratches, but doesn't make the sink immune to scratching all together. Scratching/Staining in a stainless steel sink is not a manufacturing defect, and is not covered under warranty once it's been in use. Marc

A: Good Day . The model appears to be the Steel Queen # QCLA2031R-8. 20x FB x 31" LR. Bowl is 8" deep on the left side large bowl and 7" deep on the right side small bowl. Satin finished bowls .
