This has to be the crappiest mower that I've ever spent three grand on and just a waste of money this thing has given me trouble since it's had 12 hours on it and now it only has about 100 hundred hours. I'm literally going to park it because it was my dad's mower and it can sit there for eternity

No, I do not recommend this product.

Just over a year old and has transmission issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the performance and reliability of my YTH24V54 Husqvarna mower, which I purchased in February 2024. As a homeowner, my usage has been minimal and primarily on flat terrain, with virtually no strain placed on the transmission. Despite this, the mower has begun exhibiting serious issues in just over a year of ownership. As of early July, the mower moves at an extremely slow pace and is unable to handle even the slightest incline. For diagnostic purposes, I proactively replaced the drive belt—despite the original still appearing to be in good condition—but this did not resolve the issue. There is no visible debris, damage, or fluid leakage present that might explain the problem. Frankly, I am very disappointed that a mower from a brand with Husqvarna's reputation would degrade so quickly under such light use. This experience raises serious concerns about the durability and engineering of your current product line. If this reflects the standard of quality Husqvarna now offers, I can confidently say I will not purchase another Husqvarna mower in the future.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Sixth Season Still Strong

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Husqvarna 54" Lawn Tractor was purchased in July 2020. This was a significant upgrade from a completely worn out 42" lawn tractor. I was initially very disappointed with the 54" deck. One problem was the exposed front guide wheels that got hooked in wire fencing and would far too easily get knocked crooked. The original blades were junk. Any grass over 6" tall would instantly clog and it would not make anywhere near a full width cut at anything more than dead slow speed. I bought the mulching kit and blades, but installing that just made the cutting problems worse. The mulching cover for the deck had exposed rubber fasteners that got caught on things and were frequently knocked loose. The cutting performance was so bad I took the 54" deck off and replaced it with my old 42" deck for a few weeks. With the 54" deck turned upside down it looked like the flat profile original and mulching blades were just running too close to the top of the deck. I bought a set of aftermarket mulching blades. These blades are much heavier, wider, and they have a stepped profile that drops the cutting edges much closer to the bottom edge of the deck. The rubber fasteners were removed from the mulching cover and four automotive self-tapping screws were used to attach it to the deck. Yes, a 1/2" socket wrench is now required when it is time to mulch and blow leaf litter, but the cover cannot be knocked loose. The front gauge wheels were moved inboard of the mounting brackets. This required drilling new holes for the axle bolts that would provide enough clearance for the wheels to run in that location. With the design problems apparently solved the 54" deck was reinstalled and it immediately worked much, much better. We are now starting the 6th season and I am very happy with the performance of this lawn tractor. The original battery is still in there, but I keep my batteries on maintainers, so they do last much longer than neglected batteries. The Briggs and Stratton engine starts right up every time, and has plenty of power. I have come to expect nothing but excellence from Briggs and Stratton and would not purchase a lawn tractor with anything but a Briggs engine. The 54" deck does stick out more than I was prepared for, on both sides. Some plantings were sacrificed to my learning curve, but this lawn tractor can still get into some tight areas with little effort. All of my previous lawn tractors had manual gear transmissions. I was not sure about this one since I do occasionally pull a log splitter or various trailers. The variable hydro transmission has performed flawlessly for five years now.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought two years ago. This is my first riding mower and has been a learning process, especially on routine maintenance. More information about how to do those in the manual or an easy link on website would be super helpful, but overall it has worked really well on our 3 acre property.

  • A: There are several differences between these 2 tractors. The best way to compare them is to go to https://www.husqvarna.com/ca-en/products/riding-lawn-mowers/ and select the 960480062 and the 960430259 and hit the compare products button. The prices were also affected by a tariff imposed by the Canadian government this year, which didn’t exist in 2018.
