Just want to go fishing

I bought a new pontoon boat I asked them to install an easy to use depth/fish finder. This Helix 5 is what they put on, first day on the water 25 foot of water riding at about 25 mph I hit a tree and looked over the edge of the boat to see I am in a forest that did not come up on the finder? Nice dent! I have no idea why I am not sure how to set this thing up the web page will not let me set up an account and trying to learn how to use this thing is like I need to go to computer school, is nothing easy
No, I do not recommend this product.

The HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS G3 has 3 ports on the back. These are used for Power, Transducer, and Comm connections. The Comm port is typically only utilized for factory testing or connecting to optional compatible accessories such as an external GPS receiver.

Q: I am looking for a portable unit to go between my inflatable pontoon single seat pontoon boat and also when I rent 12’ to 14’ fly fishing boats at some of the lakes I fish in British Columbia.

A: Not a portable unit. Made to be fix to a boat or in a sealed plastic box big enough to fit a baterie and the fish finder only then it become portable. That what i did and it works great. Regards

A: All Humminbird Fishfinders are sold with a transducer included unless the model name includes "CHO" which stands for "Control Head Only". Example: SOLIX 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ G3 CHO

A: The HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS G3 comes pre-installed with the Humminbird Basemap. The Basemap covers 10,000 lakes in the U.S. and U.S. coastal waters.
