Product Details

Shock treating your pool weekly is important because it protects you and your family from bacteria and organic contaminants. Weekly may seem more often than you are used to, but shocking gives the chlorine the extra boost it needs. Super chlorination or shock treating removes chloramines, which cause eye irritation and "chlorine" odours from the pool water. When there is a strong chlorine smell, this often means there is not enough FAC in the pool, rather than too much chlorine.

Q: Can the shock treatment be used with ipg brand pucks?

A: Tjtj, While we cannot advise regarding the brand of pucks you mention, we can recommend all of our HTH chlorinating tabs are compatible with the HTH Sock It. The products should not come in physical contact with each other. One is added directly to the pool water (HTH Sock It) and the tabs are used in a feeder, floater or skimmer. Try the HTH Dual Action Pucks, or HTH 3" Chlornating Pucks, if you are looking for a product with CYA. Q: What is the ratio of water per 1pack of this item?

A: Hello Robbie, The package you reference should treat around 30K liters of water. 150 grams per 10K liters of water is the recommended dosage. Hope this helps. Q: We bought a Summerwaves 15X36 pool and just filled it. We have well water and the water is a yellow/brown colour. We put 454 gram of shock and have run the filter for more than 24 hours and no change in the water??? Do we need more?
